Basic Esthetics Program
(600 Hour Course)
The Basic Esthetics Program prepares you for a career at day and resort spas, full-service salons and skin care clinics. The course covers all aspects of skin care, make up and holistic health and consists of 600 clock hours of technical instruction this includes lecture, demonstration and classroom participation. Within the 600 hour course there is a minimum 100 hour externship required. Successful completion of this course and State licensure allow the esthetician to perform both manual and electronic facials, eyebrow shaping, hair removal (other than by electrolysis), make up artistry and skin care product representation. The program is offered as a 19-week full time format (32 hours per week), a 25-week part time format (24 hours per week) and On-Line Classes.

Master Esthetics Program
(600 Hour Course)
The Master Esthetics Program prepares you for employment at skin therapy centers, skin care clinics, medical spas, plastic surgery, cosmetic and dermatological practices. The course consists of 600 clock hours of instruction, with detailed training on state-of-the-art skin care equipment and protocol. Students practice upon each other and, with proficiency, patients in a supervised clinic.  The course includes chemical exfoliation, microdermabrasion, lymphatic drainage and advanced make up artistry, among others. Students who successfully complete the Master Esthetics Program will be eligible for Masters licensing (highest) in the state of Virginia.

Make Up Artistry Program
(600 Hour Course)
Make up is a basic skill in the cosmetology and esthetics fields that requires talent and training to achieve success. An esthetician with passion for this career may focus on make up application only. Employment opportunities include the fashion/model/runway industry, television, video, stage and clinical camouflage, among others. This is a speciality course covering skin care, make up and holistic health. Successful completion of the program will allow licensure through the state of Maryland. Our 600 hour course is available as a 19-week full time (28 hours per week), or 38-week part time (12 hours per week).

For those who wish to combine their knowledge with their teaching abilities, The Virginia Institute of Esthetics offers an Instructor Program. This rigorous course of academia, which requires an internship, will focus upon:

Programs start quarterly and our 600 hour course is offered in a 16-week part time evening format, requiring a time commitment of 8 hours per week.
