I. Our Institute is founded by Saphonia Gee, International Diplomat with CIDESCO as well as one of the first Esthetics representative Board Members for The Board of Barber and Cosmetology for the state of Virginia. As a leader in the industry she is responsible for the requirement of licensing in the state of Virginia and Founder of SVSS (The Society of Virginia’s Skin Care Specialist). She is the author of the Basic and Master Esthetics Skillsbooks titled Creating Beauty The Art and Science. Which are comprehensive guides to esthetic procedures and technique. Ms. Gee is also affiliated with the NIC and has been an active part of the development of the Basic Esthetics Written/Practical Exam and Master Esthetics Practical Exam that is used on a national level to assess candidate’s eligibility for state licensure.
Each of our instructors are graduates of our program and are experts in the content area being taught. Our Instructors have real world experience, so they can draw upon their own extensive work scenarios to broaden your education. Not only do we encourage our students to continue to expand their knowledge of the industry but we require that our instructors do as well. Each instructor in required to attend all events and Congress sessions sponsored by the SVSS. They are encouraged to attend Trade Shows as well as educational opportunities that are sponsored by CIDESCO. Ms. Gee not only attends these sessions but has been an Educator at these events as well.
II. Our institute offers a state of the art facility that is located in the popular resort area of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Virginia Beach offers many attractions such as the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Museum. It is host to many fine eateries, shopping and cultural events. The campus is located on Laskin Road in the elite area of Hilltop. The 8,000 sq. foot facility offers elegance and style that is esthetically pleasing to the eye as well as professional in its setting. Our campus is complete with theory/clinical laboratories, library, computer lab, treatment rooms and student lounge.
III. The esthetics classroom instruction of 600 hours includes 220 hours of Internship/Externship through our institute. This affords our students the opportunity to experience hands on training in an environment that promotes professionalism allowing them to build their practical skills as well as promotes good public relation skills.
In addition to classroom lecture and technical performance our curriculum includes assignments that promote off campus study as well as in class participation. Students are required to complete projects that are appropriate to the subject matter that is being studied. This encourages students to continue the learning process outside of the classroom.
In choosing our institute a student will not only learn how to prepare for becoming an employee but our Business Skills portion of the curriculum also teaches the preparation and benefits of becoming an employer. Our Dream Spa project educates students on the process and procedures for opening a spa facility.
IV. We have high expectations of our students. Our program is rigorous. Our curriculum includes the use of the Esthetics Skills Book which is a comprehensive guide that teaches step by step instruction of Esthetics procedures and techniques. As a graduate, you will be well-prepared and work-ready. Your level of competence as a result of your training will allow you to handle yourself in a manner that promotes a strong work ethic and professional attitude.

Beyond our comprehensive in class training we prepare our students for the job market. V. Our institute takes pride in knowing that we are the future of esthetics. As a leader in the industry we are known for setting standards as opposed to attempting to meet them. In addition to establishing a skincare foundation that would lobby to bring licensure to the state of Virginia our institute is the only learning facility that is state approved to offer higher levels of education for the esthetics industry. Our students are given the option to further their education that will offer them the opportunity to achieve a Bachelor and Master Degree in the Science of Esthetics.
Our institute is proud to offer our students the opportunity to experience hands on training in our facilities Esthetics Therapy Center. The center has treatment rooms that are fully equipped with state of the art technical materials. Our staff ensures that our therapy center is an environment that will meet the standards and expectations of our students and their prospective employers.
