Meet the President
 Saphonia Gee, president and owner of The Virginia Institute of Esthetics, is taking the industry to a new level by her actions not just her words. As a practicing esthetician, esthetics educator, speaker, author, founder of two academic institutions, and president of an esthetics society, Ms. Gee is changing the face of esthetics education by expanding opportunity in the industry. As quoted by Ms. Gee, “Knowledge is the key to personal and career success.” As a result of the changes in the ever growing industry, Ms. Gee has decided to take esthetics education to the next level. In January 2010, Ms. Gee launched the opening of The University of Esthetics and the Research for the Art and Science of Beauty. The university will offer courses and programs that will allow students the opportunity to grow beyond earning a certificate and work towards higher levels of education. “Life is a journey,”Ms. Gee said. “It is most important that we have the tools necessary to build our craft and our future.” The institute offers courses that are essential in education and training for the esthetics industry.
